What we do

Founded in 1986, Teparay Precision Sheet Metal Ltd (TPSM) remains a family owned and run enterprise. The Company has grown significantly over the years and now occupies 60,000 sq. ft. of factory and warehouse space in Hainault, Essex, ideally located for London and the M25.

TPSM is an ideas driven business, helping our clients find solutions to tricky mechanical and electrical design and manufacturing problems. As a progressive subcontractor our in-house capability as part job shop, part contract manufacturer means we are able to put our ideas and problem solving into practice by producing the solution.

Our Research and Development department uses Solid Works to minimise the time required for design and prototyping. 3D models can be drawn, interrogated and amended until concepts are proven and we are ready for manufacture, saving time and money.

Our factory offers the latest in laser, turret and brake presses and the ability to produce powder coated and fully assembled parts. We offer a full in-house prototype capability to be able to produce a customer specific solution that may well also use plastics and composite.

Sheet Metal Specialists Young & Woods Changes Management

A well established sheet metal manufacturer, Young & Woods based in Harlow, has been acquired by TPSM (Teparay Precision Sheet Metal) in Ilford.

 Young & Woods has been trading since 1946 and has become a staple in the sheet metal engineering industry ever since. Business continues as usual for this established company harnessing great talent in house, adding to TPSM’s market leading position as they together expand and continue their commitment to industry innovation through true development and growth.

Previous business owners, Alan Lee and John O’Rourke, had been joint Directors of the business for nearly 50 years. A buyout of the company has allowed them to retire successfully, whilst ensuring their full teams remain in successful employment within TPSM’s group to add further career trajectories for staff.

Commenting on the acquisition, Directors at TPSM stated:   ‘We are delighted to welcome Young & Woods into our operational group here at TPSM that will enhance our collaborative growth of each entity. This acquisition aligns with TPSMs’ overarching group strategy to expand market presence through mergers and acquisitions whilst diversifying joint offerings and adding value to customers through having different operating sites, and strengthen its position as a leader in engineering.

About Us

TPSM has grown from a sub-contract sheet metal company into a fully flexible organisation able to offer conceptual ideas through to manufactured solutions in metal on a variety of levels.

Financially strong in a sector not known for its strength, we can undertake and finance large contracts but importantly is capable by using our flexible approach and machinery to produce small batch runs.

Based in Hainault, Essex 5 miles from the M25 motorway, our 60,000 square foot factory houses a wide range of capabilities including: CNC Punching, Laser Cutting, Pressing, Panel Folding, Bending, Welding, Powder Coating, Assembly, Warehousing and Despatch.

Our equipment is extensive, modern and, where this adds value, automated.
Our staff, suppliers and strategic partners are key in the process to deliver a quality product.

Our Research and Development department uses Solid Works to cut the time required on design and prototyping. Instead of manufacturing five different prototypes, 3D models can be drawn, interrogated and amended until the concept and the final design are ready to be manufactured. This really does save time and money.

TPSM’s ability to adapt and remain flexible within the ever-changing sheet metal market has been vital to our continued success. A hands-on approach by the Directors means the company retains the drive and enthusiasm required to ensure a high-quality product is delivered with the fastest turnaround achievable.
